MYANMAR – China China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Myanmar Julie Bishop met in Beijing, according to Chinese media reports.
At the meeting yesterday in Beijing, China, Chinese Foreign Minister Wan Yi said that China is willing to play a key role in peace and national reconciliation in Myanmar. He expressed that China is respecting Myanmar’s sovereignty and supporting reunification and regional stability, China wants Myanmar’s stability and development above all.
The UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Myanmar wants to work closely with China to resolve the Myanmar issue. In addition, she expressed her desire to resolve the Myanmar issue with ASEAN.
