CHIN STATE – The coalition forces of Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Defence Force (CDF) have surrounded Thantlang and are getting rid of the leftover junta forces in the town, said CNA spokesperson Salai Htet Ni.
The Chinland Council Coalition Forces formed by CNA and CDF have started offensives to capture Thantlang since July 22.
At present, they have captured the junta base in Thantlang as well as junta outposts between Hakha and Thantlang.
It is said that the junta forces in Thantlang are currently stationed in buildings and churches and the junta council is delivering rations and ammunition to them via air.
“On August 12, we captured a hill at the entrance of Hakha. That was to ensure that no reinforcement came from Hakha to Thantlang. They have not sent reinforcements via landline routes but have airdropped bullets and food rations. We have all surrounded Thantlang as well,” Mr. Salai Htet Ni explained the situation in Thantlang on August 14.
He added that the goal of the Chinland Council Coalition Forces is to rid Thantlang of junta council forces as soon as possible.
The Chin Coalition Forces have captured at least eight junta outposts in Thantlang and between Hakha and Thantlang between July 22 and August 14.
