KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independence Organisation (KIO) spokesperson Colonel Naw Bu said that the junta air force carried out bombing attacks near Laiza, the headquarters of KIO.
On August 7 midnight and in the early morning of August 8, junta Y12 planes came and bombed near Laiza. Early reports mentioned that one woman received minor injuries and a church was also damaged.
“A church was destroyed in the Laiza Mongsat area. A woman was also injured in Myothit area due to the bombing. We haven’t received other reports of damages,” said Colonel Naw Bu.
He added that China fired warning shots during the junta aerial attack to deter junta planes from crossing the border and that Chinese air force also patrolled the border.
“There were warning shots fired from China. It was not something like a battle. Chinese planes also hovered in the area,” explained Colonel Naw Bu.
