SHAN STATE – The Health Department of the Special Region (1) of the Union of Myanmar conducted awareness-raising activities on the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Awareness Campaign in Lashio, according to the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).
The activities were conducted on December 16, to promote the awareness of the residents of Lashio on the prevention of communicable diseases and effectively protecting the health and lives of the people, according to local sources.
The Health Department of the Special Region (1) of the Union of Myanmar has conducted awareness-raising activities in Lashio to raise awareness of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control such as malaria, tuberculosis (TB) and AIDS, and has received widespread attention and active participation from the local people, the MNDAA announced.
“In the awareness-raising activities, the Health Department’s professional medical personnels systematically introduced key knowledge points such as various communicable diseases, transmission routes, prevention methods, and common symptoms of communicable diseases,” it said.
Mosquito control plays a key role in the prevention and control of malaria and dengue fever, and the community is encouraged to actively cooperate in mosquito control activities.
In order to effectively prevent various communicable diseases caused by urban mosquito breeding, health workers from the Lashio General Hospital, Health Department of the Special Region, recently carried out environmental cleaning and disinfection activities in Lashio City.
