MANDALAY DIVISION – It has been reported that the junta council forces are arresting young people for military service in Tada Oo, Mandalay Division and daily wages laborers are finding it difficult to go to work.
Starting from the morning of November 10th, in the old town of Inwa and the Duthta Waddy bridge, over 70 youths were arrested after the junta council troops chased with the cars of the funeral society on Duthta Waddy Bridge.
The residents said that because of the continuation of arresting on the 11th November by junta council troops, the daily wages workers of masonry, carpenters, painters, company employees and other vendors can’t go to Mandalay and stopped working because they didn’t want to go.
“We don’t even dare to go to work anymore. On our side, a man earns about 15,000 kyats a day,” said one of the local residents.
Some residents said that because the young people did not come out and there were fewer arrests, so, the junta council pressured administrators to send military service youths from the quarters of the Tada Oo.
At the Junta Council checkpoint on the Sagaing side of Sagaing Bridge (Yadaranpon Bridge), nearly 40 young men, including those who were about to go to the Mandalay Gem market, were arrested for military service, on the morning of November 9th.
Similarly, in Mandalay, young people were summoned for military service. Residents said that arrests are being made by force.
According to local residents, hundreds of young men are often arrested by the junta council every time for the new batch of military service begins in the Tada Oo.
The junta council is trying to start the military service batch number (7) and is calling up young men to serve in the military in various regions.
