MAGWAY DIVISION – Thayet District Battalion 4 announced that seven junta forces were injured in the detonation of a mine that was set up in advance on a planned junta camp site in Thayet Township.
Around 50 junta forces that came to set up camp at the hill near Twinlal Village, located around 6 miles from junta defense industry 12 were attacked with four mines detonated remotely on August 11 around 1:30 p.m.
“We received news in advance so we detonated four mines. Seven were injured and three of them were seriously wounded. We don’t know yet if there were any deaths,” said Mr. Myat, the information officer of Thayet District Battalion 4.
He added that those injured in the mine blast were carried into defense industry 12 in a Faw truck while two of them were receiving treatment for injuries in the leg and neck at a private hospital in Thayet according to reports from scouts.
Moreover, it is reported that around 100 junta forces arrived at the site of the attack on August 12 and abducted three local residents in the area.
The attack was carried out by Thayet District Battalion 4 and Students’ Armed Forces and Thayet Township People’s Defence Organisation also helped collect information.
Thayet District Battalion 4 previously eliminated a leader of junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia in Kyimie Village, Kamma Township and confiscated his weapon and ammunition.
