INDIA – CDM Captain Kaung Thu Win is reported to have held discussions on the topics of human rights, international humanitarian laws and interim justice with the CDM soldiers and police in Champhai, Mizoram State, India.
It was held from November 4 to 6 as part of the Paungsilan knowledge-sharing session, led by Captain Kaung Thu Win from People’s Goal. Twenty CDM soldiers and police attended the session.
The CDM troops who attended the session shared their personal experiences with human rights violations and war crimes during their time in the terrorist junta army and also took part in bilateral discussions.
Most of the soldiers under the junta council have poor knowledge of the rules regarding human rights, war regulations, and the items of the Geneva Convention.
Hence, People’s Goal has been holding similar knowledge-sharing sessions to share knowledge and to help bring to light the war crimes committed by the junta council.
The CDM soldiers and police who attended the training also reportedly cleaned and weeded the cemetery at New Champai on November 6 as part of their community service.
