CHIN STATE – Due to the continuous airstrikes by the junta council in Chin State’s Mindat township, Chin Defense Force – Mindat (CDF-Mindat) issued a notice today on August 19th, asking people to avoid gathering and dig hiding places properly.
Due to the continuous airstrikes by the junta council, the people of Mindat township are requested to avoid crowds, and to make sure to dig hiding places near their homes and not under their houses. In order to avoid personal harm, the Chin Defense Body has issued a notice to ask only the governor or officials for information and not to spread false information that will cause concern to the public.
The junta council attacked from the air and fired by heavy weapons frequently in Mindat township. On August 9th, a woman age over 30 years was killed and her daughter was seriously injured in her hand and head when she was hit by a heavy weapon shell fired by the 274th Infantry Battalion in Mindat. They were hit when they were working in the garden near the Bungalow in eastern side of Mindat.
During this year, 2024, the junta council airstrike in Mindat township killed 8 innocent people (including 6 people who had gone as carry persons outside the township) and 11 civilians, including 3 CDF soldiers, and injured more than 50 people, Chin Defense (Mindat) announced on August 9th.
