TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The locals said that the junta fired and destroyed a house in Katwe village, Thayetchaung Township. A Junta column invaded Katwe village yesterday (August 25) evening and then fired on a wooden house that was attached to a grocery store.
His store sold rice, cooking oil, onions, and other kinds of groceries.
Junta might be fired randomly, said a local man.
According to the 2014 census, Katwe village had 240 families, and now all of them have abandoned their houses.
Junta troops who were stationed on Snake Mountain in Yange village retreated on this date (August 20), and four days later, they came back. There was a battle with the people’s defense force on the day of came back.
Katwe village was about three miles from Yange village.
Now, junta troops are stationed on Snake Mountain, Yange Village, and Bote Mountain on the Myeik-Dawei road.
