SAGAING DIVISION- An official from the Kyung Hla activists group told that over 30,000 people from more than 30 villages had to flee because the terrorist army entered Htangone prefecture, Kanbalu District, Sagaing Division on May 17 with 4 tactical columns.
It is reported that 4 columns, including the military council unit from 361 and 368 Infantry Battalions, Pyu Saw Htee column from Le Hla village and the junta’s soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee column from the Kantbalu 6006th Artillery Battalion, entered the Htangone Prefecture on the same day.
Activist from Kyun Hla said that “Due to the attack by the terrorist army, in the Htangone Prefecture total of 23 villages including Kyay Pin Aet, Nyan In, In Linggyi, Ywa Ma, Ywathit, Nyang Pawn Inn, Yee Dway, Tharet Tar, Inga Daunt, Kai Ro, Kyung Ping Gone, Su Pin Gone, Bo Te Gone, Bo Gone, Me The, Nyang Zin Gyi, Min Gone (a), Shan Tat, Zi Phu Gone, Yawshan Tat, Htein Taw, Payle, Thapyay Thalay and nearby villages of adjacent prefectures have to flee and abandon their homes.”
“It is Htangone Prefecture alone, over 30,000 people have to flee from war and only few from neighboring prefectures.” Activist from Kyun Hla added.
The junta column with strength 150 of LIB 368 departed from Koemyo village, Kaboe prefecture open fire heavy artillery from Nyaung Zingyi village, Htangone Prefecture to Mingon village on 6 a.m. in May 17. The junta’s column left from Kyaypin-et village with strength of 120 from LIB 361 tyrannizing Innlegyi village and left at 9:30 a.m. left towards west.
In addition, the Pyu Saw Htee column from Lehla station has already reached the Ywama village. According to local residents, the junta council unit and Pyu Saw Htee column, which left Kantblu 6006 Battalion stormed Nyan-inn village and burned it down for the third time at 8:15 a.m.
In Kanbalu Township, between April and May, the terrorist army was constantly tyrannizing and the number of people fleeing the war was increasing. In addition, 18 buffaloes, 23 cows and tents were destroyed from Padauk Pin Village, Chap Thin Prefecture, due to the impact of Cyclone Mocha.
