SAGAING DIVISION – In the southern part of Kanbalu township, the junta troops were patrolling on September 6, causing the local residents of many villages to flee.
On September 6 at around 9:00 a.m., around 200 junta council troops burned Layhla village in Kantbalu township, causing some damages of houses, according to the Kyunhla/Kantbalu activists group based in Kantbalu district. Some locals were also reportedly abducted.
It is reported that the column burned down Layhla village and moved towards Kyipin Dam. The column also included Pyu Saw Htee and it was added up with 3 columns. Local residents said that the shelters for the refugees near the village of Inlegyi were also burned down on previous day.
The infinity group said, “The local residents from the villages such as Nyang Paung Ying, Ywa Ma, Nyan In, Inlegyi, Kyay Ping Aek, In Ga Daung, Tharet Ta, Htein Taw, Hsu Poke Gone, Bo Te Gone, Bo Gone, Pe Lae, Me Tae, Tha Pae Tha and Kai Yoe from the southern part of the Kantbalu were fleeing.”
In addition, on September 5, the junta army was patrolling in Sagaing and Wetlet townships with many columns, and local residents from more than 20 villages had to flee.
