SAGAING DIVISION- An official from the Kyunhla activists group said that the junta army torched the villages in Kanbalu Township and stole villagers’ belongings.
The junta troops from Battalion 368 and their subordinate 150 Pyu Saw Htees attacked Suu Tat village with heavy and small weapons and torched it on May 19, 8:20 a.m. It is not yet confirmed how many houses were burned.
“Now the junta dog troops have left the village and are near Thagyarsat. The hostages have not been released yet. They are going around and stealing people’s property such as gold, money, and valuables items,” said an official from the Kyunhla activists group.
That military column entered the villages in Htan Gone Prefecture and torched Magyee Gone village, Zee Gone Prefecture on May 18, Suu Tat village was attacked with heavy and small weapons on May 19 6:15 a.m., and junta started torching at around 8:12 a.m.
Suu Tat village was burned down and destroyed by the junta army in December 2022 for the first time and 56 houses were burned.
On May 16, junta’s 361st Infantry Battalion under the army attacked Kyay Pin Att village, Htan Gone Prefecture and looted and stole people’s valuable items, destroyed the school equipment inside the school, and also destroyed the bomb shelters made for the students to escape from the aerial strikes.
After that, 361st Infantry Battalion has re-joined the Kanbalu 6006th Battalion. The 368th Infantry Battalion which left after torched Suu Tut village, entered Phote Kone village at 9:40 a.m.
