SAGAING DIVISION – In Kanbalu Township, more than 10 villages have been fleeing for safety as the junta army was conducting airstrikes and shelling heavy weapons after their base camp at Malel Village was being attacked by revolutionary forces, Kyun Hla activists group reported.
The terrorist army’s base camp at Malel Village was attacked by revolutionary forces on May 7, resulted facing many casualties at junta side and many others also left their junta camp and ran away. During the clash, the junta air force reportedly bombarded for three hours using Y-12 plane.
“About 30,000 civilians are fleeing. There are difficulties since they had to suddenly flee for safety. I have not heard of people being injured so far,” an official from the Kyun Hla activists group explained.
At present, the fascist council army is stationing at the north near Malel Village. After the junta council’s police station at Malel was seized by the revolutionary forces, there have been airstrikes by junta army and also from the ground infantry column.
“Malel police station was seized yesterday (May 7) at around 1 o’clock in the afternoon. When their police station fell, about 50 junta troops came to help. The terrorist army is stationing in the northern part of the village. The civilians are fleeing,” explained a local resident.
