SAGAING DIVISION – Three war refugees have been bitten by cobras in the two weeks since early August in Koe Taung Boe Region, Kanbalu District according to the Kyun Hla Kanbalu Activists Group – Kanbalu District.
On August 11, a 25 year old woman from Mate Thalin Kone Village and a 38 year old man from Inn Poat Village in Koe Taung Boe were bitten by a snake while going to the farm.
According to health workers providing medical care on the ground, the two war refugees were not in danger because they received medical treatment in time.
In addition, on August 5, a 40 year old man was bitten by a cobra in the Ahlelkhon Village, Koe Taung Boe, and was treated with 12 ampules of Myanmar-made BPI anti-venom and 8 ampules of Indian anti-venom and now he is not in danger anymore.
It’s been reported that many villagers in the Koe Taung Boe Region have been living in the nearby forests for more than a year because they were frequently attacked and destroyed by terrorist junta forces stationed in the region.
Therefore, the internally displaced people have to try to work in agriculture in the midst of the danger of war and snakes in order to earn a living, according to the Kyun Hla Kanbalu Activists Group – Kanbalu District.
