KARENNI STATE – According to local news sources, the terrorist junta council bombed a Kayan militia security gate station on the Mobye-Peking Road with a fighter jet, damaging the entire gate station.
At around 4:00 a.m. on June 1, the security gate of the Kayan New Land Army on the Mobye-Peking Road was attacked by a junta jet with 2 bombs. The entire gate was destroyed but the casualties of the people are unknown as yet.
“The damage is not yet known. From 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., five junta planes came and attacked Mobye gate, Pekon, Myaynigon, Sattaw, Loilon and Khaung Ei. I don’t know what the reason was. It is known that on May 18, the junta forces surrounded and inspected the house of Mr. Than Soe Naing, Kayan New Land Party Chairman, in Naung Yar, Loikaw. At that time, the chairman was not at home and the situation on the Si Phu side was already turning bad and tense. Junta started reinforcing its troops. Now they (junta) bombed (the gate),” an official from the Karenni Military Central Press Office confirmed.
The Kayan New Land Army has been standing as a Pyithusit militia (a militia organization with junta links) since 2009. However, it also celebrates Kayan New Land Army Day, Kayan new Land Founding Day, and would act as a separate organization. The organisation also has not joined the junta council’s side in the conflicts taking place in Karenni State. Its headquarters is based in Si Phu and has controlled territories in Mobye, Pekon, Yazagyo and Paunglaung.
“Actually they are termed a Pyithusit militia since 2009. But they celebrate their own armed forces day as well as Kayan New State Founding Day. They also formed a Kayan New State Army and would refer themselves as an army. But previous governments defined them as Pyithusit militia. Headquarters stationed in the Si Phu jungles and has controlled areas in Mobye, Pekon, Yazagyo and Paunglon. It seems as if the junta council bombed the militia under its control. The junta council has not attacked those Pyithusit militia before,” said a revolutionary military news source.
