KARENNI STATE-Kayah (Karenni) State Red Cross Society reportedly stated that 17 individuals who had experienced amputations for various reasons were taken to Hpa-An in two groups during August to receive prosthetic limbs.
An official of Kayah State Red Cross Society said, “Transportation was carried out in two phases throughout August. The initial group, consisting of 14 people (eight males, two females and four assistants), was transported on August 19. The second group, comprising seven individuals (five males and two females) was brought on August 26.”
This collaborative effort involved the Myanmar Red Cross Society Hpa-An Orthopedics Rehabilitation Center, and the Kayah State Red Cross Supervision Committee.
It was reported that individuals who had undergone amputations for various reasons in Loikaw, Demoso and Hpruso townships were brought, and the age range of these individuals spanned from five to over 60 years.
An official of the Red Cross Society said, “Our Red Cross Society helps regardless of their races and in alignment with the principles upheld by the Red Cross Society.”
