KARENNI STATE – The 5th Battalion of the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) announced that female soldiers are also serving on the frontline.
Women not only actively participated in this Spring Revolution, but it has also been more than a year since KNDF’s first Female soldier Division (Division-4) under Battalion 5 was formed.
Women’s participation in politics and the revolution shows that the level of political culture has updated. Moreover, today’s Spring Revolution is no longer training and stationing in a forest as it used to be, but a revolution in which advance technology and public participation are also involved.
It is also mentioned in the statement that in the time of the federal system establishment, in the future, gender discrimination, oppressions and sufferings of women must seek for justice. It is also said that women must continue to participate and fight for their rights in political talks, negotiations and policy making in the future.
