KAREN STATE – Interim University Council of West Yangon Technological University (WYTU) and Students Union have given a grant of 400,000 kyats per month for the first time to a public-based school in Karen State for the teachers and students to strengthen the interim education.
The spokesperson Mr. Pyilone Zaunkywa of interim University Council said that the support was given not to stop the interim education programs and to ensure the continuation of public-based schools.
“Education is an environment that should always be open to those who want to learn and it is compulsory for the students to feel safe in mind. University Students Union has been implementing the education related needs in Karen State together with other allied Students Associations,” he continued.
The in-charge teacher of the public-based school received the support money. In addition, necessary books and stationeries were also donated by WYTU Students Union, together with people who love literature, and MAEUSU LIBRARY to a self-supporting high school and village library opened in a village in Karen State in September 2022.
Mr. Pyilone Zaunkywa added that the needed school books were also donated to the interim schools in Kyainseikgyi Township of Karen State in April, 2023.
