KAREN STATE – The Karen Youth meeting was held for three days and attended by Karen National Union (KNU) central members and Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Deputy Chief of Staff General Bo Kyaw Hae.
The meeting was held at the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) headquarters in Muayepu from November 29 to December 1. KNU announced that it was attended by KNU joint secretary general (2) Pado Saw Hla Tun, Central Executive Committee member Pado El Klu Say, Permanent Central Committee member Pado Saw Kalae Say, Permanent Central Committee member Pado Popo Htoo Aung, Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lt. Gen. Saw Bo Kyaw Hae and Karen National Defense Organization (K.N.D.O) Commander-in-Chief Brigadier General Saw Shiley.
85 youth leaders from 14 Karen youth organizations, including the KYO (Karen Youth Organisation), presented activities of various youth organizations, reviewed the activities of the Karen youth during the past decade and analysed the current political situation.
In addition, KNU announced that they have established procedures for the Karen youth to cooperate on in the future.
