MON STATE- In the Karen National Union (KNU) Kawthoolay administrative area, Doothadu District, Belin Township, the Karen National Police held a 3-day working meeting with KNU district leaders, announced the KNU (Central).
The Karen National Police meeting at the district level was held from December 20 to 22.
Its purpose is to discuss public safety in KNU – Doothadu district, establish laws and enforcement, and take more powerful actions on anti-narcotics operations in the region, stated police commissioner Saw Sabaw Naw of Doothdu District.
The meeting was reportedly held for the first time after the 12th Congress of KNU-Doothadu district.
At the meeting, 18 topics were thoroughly discussed, and reached the decision and resolution on 17 topics, said the police commissioner.
The meeting was organized by KNU – Karen National Association and the respective leaders of each District, Brigade, and Township, Judicial officers, members of the Karen Women’s Organization (KWO), Karen Youth Organization (KYO), and representatives from news agencies, around 40 participants have reportedly attended.
