SAGAING DIVISION – In Kalay district, the People’s Defense Forces warned the public not to use twenty thousand Kyats bank notes issued by the terrorist junta council.
It is not allowed to carry or use twenty thousand Kyats bank notes coming out on July 31 and action will be taken if found in the revolutionary areas.
“It is prohibited according to the district that we are responsible for. I think that other districts will also take strict action up to the ground according to their respective areas. If you are caught up to 3 times, actions will be taken according to the law,” said an official at the Kalay district.
It is said that if a person is found to be carrying 20,000 notes for the first time, it will be confiscated and destroyed and record it. If it is found for the second time, warning will be issued, and if it is found for the third time, legal action will be taken.
Since 20,000 kyats notes will be distributed from the junta council through their banks to merchants, brokers and non-CDM employees, these individuals have also been warned not to bring them towards the revolutionary areas, and if they bring them, the notes will be confiscated.
On July 27, the Interim Central Bank of the National Unity Government issued a letter declaring the 20,000 kyat bank notes issued by the junta council as illegal notes.
