SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council fired heavy artillery shells at the civilians’ funeral, who were killed by their shells on April 25 afternoon, resulting in the death of another two civilians. This incident brings the total number of civilians killed by junta shells to six within two days in Kalay Township.
On April 24, junta council soldiers fired heavy artillery shells, claiming the lives of two children around their 10s, a 65-year-old man, and a woman from Pyin Taw Oo Village. While the funeral was underway, the junta council once again fired heavy artillery shells, resulting in the deaths of two more civilians.
The additional victims are Khup Tuang Kim, 26, and Puang Khup Sum, 30, from Nyaung Kone Village. As a result, the junta council’s artillery shells have now claimed the lives of two children, three men, and one woman, while also injuring others.
According to the Kalay Public Strike Committee, from February 21 to April 21, the junta council has been responsible for the deaths of 80 civilians, including children, in Kalay Township.
