SAGAING DIVISION- Residents said that the Military Council troops demolished three bridges connecting Kalay town to its northern parts on Tuesday (November 15).
Two military vehicles and a JCB truck wrecked down the bridges connecting AteSwat Village to its northern part of Kalay town.
A resident from the northern part of Kalay said, “It is possible that the Pyu Saw Htee members from Saetawoo requested the military to demolish the bridges so that resistance forces could not enter their village easily.”
Due to the destruction of the bridges, residents of 5 villages including Natgyikone, Pyinkhonlay, and Pyinkhongyi could no longer go to Kalay City.
“I wonder if they think they are safe after demolishing the bridges connecting the villages. The villagers may have a hard time travelling but this won’t have much impact on the revolution. We will fight till the end. Successes have already been achieved, and the terrorist army is facing many deaths and defeats everywhere. Some junta troops have already defected to us. So, one may be able to destroy the bridges but not the revolutionary spirit,” said Mr. Salai Vanhtaung Bak, a resistance force member.
Currently, resistant forces reportedly seized three junta outposts in the southern and northern parts of Kalay township.
