SAGAING DIVISION – It was reported by local residents that there was a bombing attack by an airplane at 8:30 p.m. on August 18, near Zohmun Khua, a village on the Kale-Tamu Expressway in Tamu Township.
On August 18, from around 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the CNDF, PDF (Thado), and NLA forces attacked the junta troops stationed at the Malu coal intersection. Malu Coal Junction is 3 miles from Bukkan Village and it is 7 miles away from Khampat city.
A Bukkan villager said, “I think they asked for air support because the junta forces were defeated. No one was injured from our side. We, Bukkan villagers and Malu villagers, in total of more than 500 people, fled to Manipur state, India within the night. Indian Government didn’t welcome us, but the villagers are our Kuki Chin nationals, so they welcome all nationals and religion without separation. No continuation of battle this morning, but there are some shooting.”
