SAGAING DIVISION – Residents reported that the junta troops arrested and killed five villagers of Indran and Pulwayshwe last Monday (July 28).
On July 28, at about 6:00 a.m. in Katha Township, there was a clash between the People’s Defence Forces and the junta army near Indran village. The junta side reportedly suffered many casualties and the firefight ended around 11:30 a.m. after which the junta troops reportedly arrested five locals who were trapped inside the clash zone of Indran and Pulwayshwe villages and killed them.
The victims were identified as forty-five years old Mr. Thant Zin Oo (aka Shat Pyay), Mr. Kachingyi (18), Mr. Kalargyi (32), Mr. Ngel (24), and Mr. Aung Myo Kyaw (38). It was also reported that ten locals are missing.
“On July 27, the military dogs raided Indra Village and stationed at the village monastery. The next day (July 28), they had a battle with the PDF forces and reportedly had many causalities on their side. At around 11:30 in the afternoon, the fighting stopped and the five people who were trapped inside the village were arrested and killed. Ten other people are also reportedly missing,” said a local resident.
