KACHIN STATE – The allied Revolutionary Forces of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) reportedly combated and captured the junta’s outpost at Kasen Mountain (Kasen Bum) near Nam Hmaw Village in Hpakant Township, on August 7, and the terrorist junta carried out airstrike attacks with fighter jets at around 3:00 p.m., after its outpost was being seized, according to KIA sources.
“Yes, the junta’s air forces launched three-time airstrike attacks with a fighter jet just a short time ago. I don’t know the details of the situation yet. Just now, I hear that another fighter jet is coming,” said a KIA source.
Moreover, the junta forces also fired mortar shells.
At least 10 fascist junta soldiers were killed and their weapons and ammunition were seized, while the allied Revolutionary Forces of KIA and PDF were combating their base in Kasen Bum, stationed with around 60 of junta forces.
It was said that the residents who had been forced to run away due to the fights in Kasen Bum, returned to their homes on the morning of August 8, but the detailed situation was not yet known.
In addition, the KIA reportedly attacked and destroyed the base of Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) that was fighting together with the atrocious junta, near the bridge in Se Zin Village of Hpakant Township on August 7, according to KIA sources.
