KARENNI STATE – Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) Chairman Khun Bi Htoo appealed to the public to support the “Edopomi (Diku) Expelling the Devil” campaign, which aims to raise 150,000 US dollars (4,500 lakh Burmese kyats).
Due to the effectiveness of drones, they have become essential in battles, and since drone attacks can be decisive, he urged the people to help raise this fund of fifteen hundred thousand dollars, said the KNDF president Mr. Khun Bi Htoo.
“Please continue to contribute to this. Especially this investment amounting to 150,000 dollars is for our 20 or more drones that will be manufactured ourselves and to buy some more spare parts,” Mr. Khun Bi Htoo added. The campaign is planned to run from June 25 to July 30.
KNDF-UAV announced that the research works of the Long Range Fixed Wing UAVs have currently been successfully completed with the help of foreign experts.
Therefore, since KNDF has the technology to manufacture the drones, KNDF Deputy Chief of Staff Komawi also urged for help to procure the necessary equipment.
“We have the army and technology is ready. If we cooperate with the necessary materials and people’s support, we will soon see the victory of our revolution in this great land,” Ko Mawi said.
This campaign is being carried out by the KNDF-UAV department of the KNDF force. Due to the hostility of the junta council, the Diku festival cannot be held in every region, but in accordance with the essence of the festival, the aim is to drive out the junta council during the festival, stated KNDF.
Edopomi (Diku) festival is a Karenni festival that’s held annually in August, September and October. The event can be interpreted as the expulsion of evil invasion.
The KNDF-UAV department said that the campaign, named “Edopomi expelling the devil” campaign, after the festival where the main essence is to drive out evil spirits.
KNDF has proclaimed that it will realize the Karenni dream, which includes Karenni national goals such as freedom, justice, equality and the right to create one’s own destiny.
