SHAN STATE – According to the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), MNDAA has announced an amnesty for 49 Pyi Thu Sit militants who were arrested during the 1027 operation in Kokang region, northern Shan state.
During the 1027 operation, some of the junta council troops who faced defeat surrendered and ran away, some troops revolted against their battalion and joined with the revolutionary alliance forces, and some of the troops were arrested as prisoners of war.
MNDAA’s judiciary questioned those prisoners of war (49 Pyi Thu Sit militias) following the Prisoner of War Act and announced an amnesty for them on December 9.
Kokang MNDAA urged those Pyi Thu Sit militias who are serving in the Kokang Puppet Organisation under the junta council to see the current situation clearly and to enter the legal fold.
