SHAN STATE – During the battle between the military council and Kokang MNDAA, more than 10 junta soldiers were killed and the weapons, ammunition and narcotics were seized, as announced by MNDAA on Wednesday (October 25).
At around 1:43 p.m. on October 25, the military soldiers and junta subordinate Paksaochange Militia forces camping at Shipaling Village School in Shinwan Region were attacked by the Kokang MNDAA unit.
MNDAA reported that eight military soldiers were killed and two drones and four cars were destroyed. Moreover, a bulletproof vest, three magazines, and 60 cartridges were also seized.
Last October 14 and 21, there were clashes between the military council and Kokang militia joint forces of more than 100 against the MNDAA forces, in the villages of Nam Khonhaw and Shipalin. Three junta and militia forces were killed and a member of MNDA was reportedly injured during those battles.
On October 24, MNDAA troops entered and cleared the areas where the fighting took place. MNDAA stated that 26 bullets and four bags of narcotic drugs were seized, and a body of the Kokang militia was also found.
“We don’t want to see the Kokang people forming allience with Min Aung Hlaing’s forces. MNDAA holds a stance not to shoot our own (Kokang ethnic) people. However, if they (militia) start pointing guns at us, we will respond,” stated MNDAA.
Last October 14, MNDAA arrested a member of the military council with 31 packs of narcotics and a 60 mm short (launcher) weapon.
