SAGAING DIVISION – Kawlin District Battalion 1 reported that three bodies of junta forces were found and weapons and ammunition were seized when they attacked the terrorist junta column that came to reinforce the junta camp at Thithpuhla Pagoda Hill, Kyauktan intersection in Kawlin Township.
On March 2, around 120 junta forces from Thithpuhla camp that launched an offensive to Khanthar Village were attacked by joint revolutionary forces. The battle went on for three consecutive days till March 4 and the junta forces were reported to have retreated back to Kyauktan Village, leaving behind three dead bodies of soldiers, one MA 3 gun, one scouting drone, one submachine gun barrel, and some ammunition.
The attack was carried out by Kawlin District Battalion 1, Battalion 4, Kawlin District People’s Defence Organisation (PDO) and joint revolutionary forces. It is informed that the junta forces remain at a close distance and that battles can break out at any time.
During the attack, the junta forces were said to have carried out two airstrikes, fired six grenades, and attacked with submachine guns, destroying two school buildings and multiple homes.
“The junta dogs (soldiers) that retreated from Thithpuhla after losing retreated in the direction of Kyauktan and Khanthar Village. Because they lost, they torched the villages they entered. They suffered badly in battles and fell back. Per the latest updates, they are still at Ngargyiai Village and they have set fire to the village again for the second time today (March 6). Ngargyiai Village was torched first when they came up as reinforcement (to Thithpuhla) and is set on fire again on their way back retreating. Khanthar Village and Kyauktan Village were also torched. We don’t know yet how many houses were destroyed,” said a Kawlin revolutionary news source.
