KAREN STATE – There were fierce fights between the Karen National Union (KNU) led Allied Forces and the atrocious junta forces in Kawt Bein Village of Kawkareik Township, on the early morning of March 24, according to the local news source.
KNU and Allied Forces reportedly carried out offensive attacks on the terrorist junta forces stationed at the police station in Kawt Bein Village, and the fight was fierce.
“There is a police station. There were terrorist junta soldiers guarding there. (The fighting) is going on fiercely,” a local source said.
“We could not run away. We were not allowed to go out. We heard the sound of artillery attacks continuously and also the sound of aircrafts hovering. We were trapped there as the roads were blocked,” said a local.
Kawt Bein Village is located in Kawkareik District of Kyondoe Sub-township, the military operations area of the Brigade – 6 of Karen National Union (KNU).
