SAGAING DIVISION – The Royal Brother Defense Force (RBDF) based in Myaung Township, Sagaing Division stated that they have amended rifle production to use affordable (5.56 bullet) instead of expensive (7.62 bullets) in early February.
“Currently, a 7.62 bullet is worth 13,000 MMK when a 5.56 bullet costs only 6,500 to 7,000 MMK. Those two types’ costs double in difference. We decided to amend production as affordable to buy the bullet,” Mr. Ye Gyi, an official of RBDF, said.
In addition, an official of the RBDF explained that the advantages of reforming rifle production are the affordable price, ease of buying 5.56mm bullets on the market, and mainly amendments to the magazine and barrel parts. Since the newly produced magazine for the 5.56 bullet is thinner than before and has a strong explosion, the manufactured product has to have precise preparation and resilience.
In the process of making a new rifle, the cost of the magazine and barrel is said to be not much different, which will be around 25 million MMK.
RBDF has also supported repairing jams and damages to the rifle using 7.62 bullets, which have been held by the Alliance Forces.
Currently, the Production Team has to produce new weapons to set up arms for new comrades who have joined Squadron 2 of the RBDF against the junta council’s conscription order.
Furthermore, RBDF officials appeal to civilians to support as affordable since there are fewer funds to support the cost of weapon production and setting up arms for new comrades.
