MON STATE – A junta outpost located between Letpanpin Cemetery and Phayarlay branch road in Kyaikhto Township was reportedly attacked around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday (August 9). The attack on the outpost, where around 30 junta troops were stationed, has killed one junta soldier, according to Kyaikhto Revolution and Information Network.
The attack was said to be a collaborative effort between Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) of Karen National Union (KNU), People’s Defense Force (PDF) Battalion 03 and Ko NgalLay Guerrilla Force, and they also got into a 15 minutes long skirmish against the junta forces, that launched into KNU/KNLA territory on a clearance mission during the time of the attack.
BAGO DIVISION – An attack targeted at Pauk Khaung Township Police Station also reportedly took place around 3:30 p.m. on the same day. The detonation attack, carried out by Pauk Khaung Liberation Force, was said to be part of their Shadowless Operation, and the damage dealt to the junta forces has not been verified yet.
This attack is the second mission in Shadowless Operation after the first mission on July 13 that damaged a hideout of the police station chief.
