KAREN STATE – There’s a battle that broke out between the junta council troops launching offensives to Zeegone Village, Kyaikhto Township, the controlled territory of KNU (Karen National Union) Brigade 1, and the Karen National Liberation Army. A source in the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) said that there were casualties among the junta soldiers.
On the morning of July 16, the junta council force of about 150 was attacked by the joint forces including KNLA 3rd Battalion, Suria Column Drone Squadron, Kyaikhto Revolution Force (KRF), Kyaikhto People’s Defence Team and Bilin People’s Defence Team.
A KNLA source said the battle lasted from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and three members of the junta council were killed. The terrorist army opened fire with heavy weapons and affected the civilians, killing two men and a woman.
Junta army columns, convoys and outposts in the KNU Brigade 1 area, including Kyaikhto Township, have been continuously attacked by joint revolutionary forces.
