KAREN STATE – News source in Karen State said that the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied forces launched an attack towards junta’s Kyaikdon strategic hill in Dooplaya District, Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 6 territory on March 14, and many military soldiers including the Tactical Command were captured alive.
Many military troops of Kyaikdon strategic hill military camp have been captured and a video of them eating was also spreading on social media.
A KNU news source confirmed that Kyaikdon Tactical Operation Command was in the captured list but the total number of military forces seized were not known in detail.
The source added that the junta army didn’t surrender easily but had returned attack against the KNLA allied forces.
“Allied forces advanced the junta army troops for two days and asked them to surrender but they didn’t. The junta thugs gathered again in a place, left only one opening and defended using three machine guns. The strategic hill was seized and the jammers were also destroyed by allied forces. After the jammers were destroyed, revolutionary forces attacked them with drones and destroyed their three machine guns. Allied forces raided their place after destroying the machine guns, so the thugs had to surrender,” explained the KNU news source.
Some people said that 30 military council members including the Tactical Operation Command were arrested, but some others said that there were 60 junta soldiers in total.
In addition, the KNLA allied forces have continued to advance towards the junta troops at Myawaddy, Thingannyinaung region.
The KNU information page stated that 120mm, 80mm, 60mm and many other weapons and ammunition were confiscated from the battle to seize the junta army’s Kyaikdon strategic hill, many captives from many army including the Tactical Operation Command General Aung Kyaw Soe and Deputy Chief of Staff Aung Min Htet were arrested.
