MON STATE – Local residents and military sources said that more than 300 homes were burned down and more than 6,000 people fled the war due to the terrorist army’s aerial bombing with incendiary bombs and the navy’s heavy weapons fire to Dhamma Tha village, Kyaikmaraw township, Mon State.
On March 27th, Fascist Revolution Day, the terrorist army dropped incendiary bombs on Dhamma Tha village from the air and the navy fired with heavy weapons, causing more than 300 houses in the village to burn down and more than 6,000 people fleeing the war.
There were no revolutionary forces stationed inside Dhamma Tha village at the time when the terrorist army opened fire with long-range weapons for no reason. The Federal Council of Mon has issued a statement that the villages were deliberately shot and destroyed as a revenge to Mon, Karen and People’s Revolutionary Organizations, and strongly condemns the inhumane actions of the Terrorist War Council.
On March 28th, the New Mon State Party (Anti-dictatorship) issued a statement regarding the incident that it would protect the Mon people and the people living in the region and create the future of the Mon people in self-determination. A statement was issued expressing full confidence that the Mon people will fight until the end, and that they will be able to turn their grief and resentment into strength and defeat the terrorist military council with collective strength.
The New Mon State Party (Anti-dictatorship) has also said that because of the terrorist junta army relying on the fighter jets and heavy weapons, the community houses where the public lives, religious buildings and schools and the hospitals are being targeted, the public should live with military caution and reduce celebrations.
