MANDALAY DIVISION- Shop owners told the media that they are worried that the junta forces will clean up the shops that did not catch fire on the Yangon-Mandalay road, Kyaukse Township.
On May 26, at around 11:30 p.m., a fire broke out at shops on the Yangon-Mandalay road in Kyaukse. The KMD Computer center, mobile phone shops, and more than 8 shops, including spectacles shops, caught fire and the damage was severe.
“Shops built on land owned by the railway station in the center of Kyaukse burned down last night.
The owners are worried that the military council will close down the rest of the shops due to the fire incident,” said a shop owner.
The shops in the railway station were built around 1992/93 and there are around 80 shops. The cause of the fire is not yet known, according to the owners of the shop.
