RAKHINE STATE – Locals reported that 6 out of 8 civilians abducted by junta army on the night of December 25 were being released now.
Junta soldiers from Kyauktaw based No.9 operations command headquarter fired small arms and invaded Gaungtoke Village at about 7:40 p.m. on December 25 and abducted four men and four women, a local resident said.
Those abductees were Mr. Maung Phyu Chay, Mr. Tun Aye, Mr. Tun Tun Kyaw, Mr. Aung Kyaw and four other women. They were detained in No.9 operations command headquarter.
Among those detained, two men and four women were released on December 26 morning, but Mr. Aung Kyaw and Mr. Tun Tun Kyaw are still being detained.
