RAKHINE STATE – On September 20, at around 4:00 PM, four family members were reportedly wounded from the heavy artillery shells stuck in the Na Ga Yar Village village in Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State.
A resident reported that the Kyauktaw Military Operations Command, MOC-9, launched this artillery shell from across the creek.
The military junta’s shelling caused injuries to Ms Ma Yin Than (65), Ms Oo Yin Than (44), Mr Myo Naing Win (28), and Mr Min Aye Soe (13). Four of them were reportedly getting emergency care at Kyauktaw Hospital for their injuries.
One shell was fallen onto a house, while two others landed on the street, according to a villager. Ms Ma Yin Than got two back wounds due to the shell launched by junta terrorists. Mr Myo Naing Win got head and back injuries and Ms Oo Yin Than on her left hand. Mr Min Aye Soe got four wounds: two on his left thigh, one on his neck and one on his right thigh.
According to the locals, on the night of September 19, the junta troops were stepping back after AA fired heavy artillery shells at two navy tugboats anchored at the jetty and transporting reinforcements to Paletwa via Kyauktaw.
Following the AA attack, the junta operations command- MOC-9, and the naval vessels fired heavy artillery continuously.
