BAGO DIVISION – Locals stated that the junta council has strictly controlled the entire Kyauktaga Town, Bago Division, and abducted some villagers coming to the city to buy dry goods.
The junta forces are said to interrogate the shoppers about their address and abduct them and forcibly extort goods and motorcycles if they came from the villages of Sit Taung river valley starting from July 09 morning.
“I think the junta council is trying to cut off the rations of defense forces. They have been interrogating the phones and census list in the entire Kyauktaga Town. They set guards at the border of the town. There was no one before. They also installed heavy artillery pointed towards the villages,” one of the locals from Kyauktaga said.
The junta forces forcibly detained seven villagers buying rice from Kyauk Hmaw Hpayargyi and also reportedly detained shoppers from villages such as Kyauk Hmaw Hpayargyi, Wet Hla Taw, Darkalar and some villages near Sit Taung river valley.
The junta council not only abducted the civilians but also installed heavy artillery assumed to be 122 mm pointing towards the villages along Sit Taung River side and East part of Kyauktaga Town.
“They have been interrogating harshly. They even abducted if only one person ride motorcycles and set the back pedal. We only allow to buy petrol for one motorcycle used,” one local said.
Some civilians from the town have even left the town and moved to villages far away from the town since the junta council have been committing injustice abductions.
After the announcement of being accelerated the military operation in Bago Division on July 01, the battles have been engaged in the townships from the eastern part of Bago Division such as Kyauk Gyi, Nat Than Kwin, Nyaung Lay Pin, Kanyutkwin, Mone and Hpyu townships and both sides have been prepared the military operations.
