BAGO DIVISION – An officer from Kyauktagar Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) stated that seven dead bodies of junta soldiers and six guns, including a pistol, were uncovered when clearing the battle site at the entrance of Nanza Village in Kyauktagar Township.
Last Tuesday (July 25) around 9 p.m., around 40 terrorist junta soldiers coming towards Nanza Village from Kyauktagar Town in one truck and two sidecars were blasted with a claymore mine and attacked from a close range, killing at least five junta troops including a captain and a weapon was also seized. Battle continued on Wednesday morning and the junta soldiers retreated from the village, leaving behind the dead bodies and weapons.
“This morning (July 26) around 11 a.m., they retreated from the village after suffering huge losses. They couldn’t even afford to pick up the weapons. Two more were killed in addition to the five that included a captain (that were killed on Tuesday night). The coalition forces didn’t suffer any damage. We would also like to request the public to donate towards the funds for 60 mm and 40 mm weapons needed for the battles in the western bank of Sittaung River,” said the officer from Kyauktagar Township People’s Defence Force (PDF).
In addition, seven more junta soldiers who were injured during the battle at the entrance of Nanza Village on Tuesday night, were said to be transferred to Taungoo Hospital from Kyauktagar Hospital as inpatients and are reportedly in a life-threatening condition. The weapon seized during that battle has been revealed to be a BA 94 sub-machine gun.
