MYANMAR – The National Unity Government (NUG) officially announced that 43 central executives and executives from 3 Gem Entrepreneur Associations in Myanmar have been blacklisted.
There are 43 executives and entrepreneurs from the 3 associations announced by NUG as blacklisted are the Myanmar Gems and Jewelry Entrepreneurs Association (MGJEA), Gems Entrepreneur Association (Yangon), Gems Entrepreneur Association (Mandalay).
On September 17th, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the National Unity Government issued Decree No. 2/2023. On that Decree, it was stated that MGJEA and all sub associations supporting the legitimacy of junta council or supporting by tax or other ways, were disbanded. After the announcement, the NUG also announced that all entrepreneurs and staff who continue to work or coordinate above mentioned associations, continue to use the property and financial assets, will be considered as those who support the junta council and will take action according to the law.
The accompanied list of entrepreneurs who continue to work in these associations without complying with the order has been blacklisted. NUG has informed that if they continue to work, they will continue to take steps as necessary.
