MAGWAY DIVISION – Aung Lam Township, Locals reported that due to the closure of entry and exit to Shwe Phantaw Village, about 10 villages that buy their main consumer products from that village have run out of food.
Starting on May 13th, around 10 trucks in Shwe Pantaw village were ordered not to leave the village, and people from other villages were also not allowed to enter the village.
“The local people in about 10 villages have started to experience the problem of lack of rice. Cars can’t leave Shwe Pantaw Village, no car is accepted from the villages such as Shwe Pantaw Village, Natmauk and Kantharyar. Motorcycles and even people are also not allowed,” said a resident of Aung Lan.
Shwe Phantaw village is the main focal point for commodity trading, and from that village, all people can go out to Aung Lan, and the junta council’s closure of access has made it difficult for the locals to get food.
According to a local, it is possible that the closure of the movement is because they want to cut off food to the defense forces around Aung Lan Township.
Till May 27th, the entry and exit of Shwe Pantaw village was closed by the junta council teams. According to the locals, there are 150 people in total inspecting Damala, Talote Pin villages and entrance of Defense Equipment factory 15.
