BAGO DIVISION – Friends of author Lin Nhyo Thawy reported that they have lost contact with the author and cannot get a hand on his location after he was beat up and abducted by junta forces in Gyobingauk Township on April 25.
At around 9 p.m. on April 25, junta forces raided the house of author Lin Nhyo Thawy in Thaekone Ward of Gyobingauk Township, asked for him by name then beat him up and forcibly took him away.
“There were around 40 (junta) soldiers that came to abduct him. He was beaten up and taken away by force. It’s already two nights (since he was abducted) and we still cannot find out where they took him,” said a friend.
The legal name of Lin Nhyo Thawy, 39 years old, is Mr. Kyaw Thu Lwin. He has previously taken part in the revolution but is said to be taking a rest due to health issues.
The terrorist junta soldiers reportedly cut off the electricity before surrounding and raiding his house then beat up and abducted him. They also searched the house and took away the mobile phones of the family members.
