SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council soldiers recklessly fired at villages in Khin-U Township on Sunday morning (July 23), forcing over 4,000 civilians to flee and wounding three others.
At around 9 a.m., around 120 junta soldiers from infantry battalions – 702 and 708, who arrived at Theindaw Village, fired 120MM and 60MM shells without a battle.
“They fired from Theindaw Village, and they’re raiding around there. Civilians from six villages are fleeing due to heavy rain, and three civilians were wounded. We don’t know the details of their injuries,” said Mr. Yan Nyein from Khin-U.
The junta shells hit the house of Mr. Than Ngwe in Shwe Yamin Village, and Ms. Aye Khine (43), Mr. Kan Chon (11), and Mr. Zayyar Oo (23) were wounded, said a Khin-U LPDF comrade.
The junta troops are at Theindaw Village, forcing over 4,000 civilians from Theindaw, Shwe Yamin, Tel Bo Pin, Thayet Wun, Kyar Pin Ai, and Thae Kone Villages to flee.
On July 19 and 20, the junta shells dropped and exploded at Mu Tha and Thet Pyin Villages in Khin-U Township, killing three, including a child and a woman, and wounding eight others.
