SAGAING DIVISION – On Saturday morning, September 2, junta council soldiers arrived from Kantbalu Township in six vehicles and launched an offensive at Nga Yone Gyi and Shar Taw Villages to the north of Khin-U Township, setting them ablaze and forcing thousands of civilians to flee from eight villages.
Thousands of civilians from Ine Paung Chaung, Aung Chan Thar, Yin Tike, Nga Yone Gyi, Shar Taw, Kalon, Thayet Kone, and Shin Min Dway Villages are fleeing.
“This morning, the junta column launched an offensive from Karbo, Kantbalu Township, toward Nga Yone Gyi and Shar Taw Villages in the north of Khin-U Township. These places were previously stable, without any battles, and the junta soldiers set them on fire without apparent reason,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Mother’s Son), an official of Ye-U People’s Defense Comrade.
Currently, that junta column is heading to Ma Daung Gyi Village from Shar Taw Village.
