SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council soldiers have launched an offensive on four villages in Khin-U Township, forcing approximately 3,000 civilians to flee to safer locations.
The junta troops initially raided the south of Than Bo Village and later proceeded to Yay Aye Kone Village. As a result, around 3,000 villagers from Than Bo, Yay Aye Kone, Chaung Sone, and Kyee Kan Villages have been displaced, according to local residents.
An eyewitness reported, “The junta column initiated the offensive this morning and even fired heavy artillery shells at Yay Aye Kone Village. Currently, they are stationed at Yay Aye Kone Village, and we can hear continuous shelling.”
Civilians are enduring challenging weather conditions and navigating through muddy terrain as they flee. The junta officials in Sagaing have not provided any response regarding this situation.
Despite the junta soldiers raiding Yay Aye Kone Village until 11 a.m., residents state that there have been no battles or arson attacks.
