SAGAING DIVISION – Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar), the information officer for Ye U based People’s Defense Comrade reported that the heavy artillery shelling by the junta council troops on Thetpay Village in Khin U Township killed a child.
The terrorist junta troops stationed at the Traditional Medicine Hospital in Ye U fired 120 mm shells into Thetpay Village on Wednesday morning (July 19) and one shell landed and exploded in a house, killing a child and heavily injuring the parents.
In addition, the terrorist junta column is also reported to be launching offensives into the villages at the border of Ye U and Tabayin Townships under heavy artillery fire, and tens of thousands of civilians from over 20 villages have been made to flee their homes.
The civilians on the run for safety at present reportedly number over 10,000 and are residents of villages such as Ywartharlay, Mutharkone, Kokkosu, Pitakatkya, Zeintzun, Pauktaw, Selgyi and Chaungpauk in southern Ye U Township and the villages of Letyetkone, Nyaunggyikone, Mukhatwin, Aungchantha, Thayettaw, Letsal, Thapyaytha, Nhabaehla, Kankone, Walgyi, Thittone and Konegyi in eastern Tabayin Township.
Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar) said, “Junta forces at the Traditional Medicine Hospital fired 120 mm shells while a large number of terrorist soldiers launch offensives. A shell landed on a house in Thetpay Village at western Khin U and injured a family of three. The child died on the way to the hospital and both parents were heavily wounded. Currently, over 10,000 civilians from more than 20 villages in Ye U and Tabayin Townships are fleeing for safety.”
