SAGAING DIVISION – The terrorist junta soldiers that were extorting money from civilians on a street in Chaung U Town were attacked by People’s Defence Force (PDF) on Tuesday (July 18) at past 7 a.m. and the attack killed five junta soldiers, reported Farmers Revolution Force (FRF), Monywa District Battalion 8.
It is said that ten junta soldiers were attacked with two prepared mines on the road near Theindaw Bridge in town.
“We detonated the mines as soon as they entered the range. Five were killed on the spot while the other five received light injuries. They dragged the dead bodies and returned to their base,” said an official from FRF.
The official continued that the injured junta soldiers opened fire recklessly into the surrounding after the mine attack but it did no harm to the civilians or PDF members.
In addition, FRF stated that the attacked junta soldiers always go on the street to extort money from the passing civilians as their base is close to Theindaw Bridge.
The attack was said to be jointly conducted by Monywa District Battalion 8 FRF and White Warriors, platoon 5, company 2 of Monywa District Battalion 15, Chaung U Revolution Army (CRA).
Monywa District Battalion 8 has previously reported attacking the five junta soldiers guarding the Chaung U immigration office on the Chaung U – Myinmu Road on June 4. Four junta soldiers were killed in the attack and four weapons were also seized.
