MYANMAR- The parents and relatives of victims said that some young people affiliated with junta’s USDP (Union Solidarity and Development Party) were fraudulently recruited into the army, claiming that they would be sent to work in Japan.
It has been reported that some army sergeants came and took some young people affiliated with the USDP from the villages of Maupin, Pyapon, KaungKone and Eainmae Townships, Ayeyarwaddy Division, claiming that they would be sent to work in Japan and would have to take a Japanese course at Yangon in order to get a job in Japan. After that, they were taken to the army recruiting units in Mandalay and Sagaing regions without being taken to Yangon and were forced to attend military training.
“The military sergeants ask the young people of USDP member’s family if they want to go to Japan as USDP is now sending people to Japan to work. They took young people to Yangon in order to attend the Japanese language course. About five youths from some village went. Some were only one and two young people. It happened about three weeks ago. But they couldn’t reach to Yangon and they were at the army recruiting units. Now the family members are trying to take them back,” said a local from Yaylaekalay village tract, Maupin Township.
It has been reported that some USDP members asking the young people in Pyapon Township, Ayeyarwaddy Division by claiming that they would be sent to Japan and need to attend a six-month course which will cost 25 lakhs. They are trying to recruit 20 youths per village.
The USDP released news that they were opening MYANMAR SANKOU course to send young people associated with USDP from all over the country including Nay Pyi Taw, to Japan. MYANMAR SANKOU course was opened in Nay Pyi Taw in June this year. Currently, 12 out of 62 young USDP trainees from MYANMAR SANKOU company have passed job interviews and were preparing to be sent to Japan.
